Classroom Library Pix!

Hey friends!
I've been in my room for a few hours here and there getting a head start on next week (our official start is Monday!) We are given very specific time frames that we are allowed to come in over the summer and this year we got a ton more time than usual because our school is really pushing for teachers to have better classroom libraries. I'm all about my library, but you know - different teachers have different priorities. I didn't really have to do much to my library, but of course I did anyway.

Just a few quick pictures to share, because I'm actually heading in now for a few hours. So, here's the progression from what I walked into to what I ended up with. I didn't love that tree in the corner, then I saw these super cute decals - so much better, right? (If you click on the picture, you can see it bigger)

You can find the decals here if you're interested. They went up super easy.

Here's a close up of some of my new additions. I don't have an owl theme going, but I couldn't resist this lamp and that cute little box! I have no idea what do do with that big duck, but it was just $5.00 and I couldn't leave it on the clearance shelf with a bunch of stuff called "hair pudding".

So, am I the only one who puts stickers all over my hand before sticking them to other things? I do this ALL the time when I'm grading papers. I'll pull a bunch of stickers off the sheet and put them all over my arm, then when I'm grading it seems faster to pull them from my hand to put on the papers.  I found myself doing it without even thinking when I was adding some decals to the wall. Anyone else do this or am I just a sticker freak?

More pics to come soon - oh, and if you like my Bump games, here's one for the start of school! Click on the picture to download it free from TpT!

  9. Denise, Where did you get the tree decal? I was going to use paper to create paper trees to staple to the wall, but yours are way cuter than anything I could make!
