This approach gives your students time to work with one specific phonics pattern or word structure so they fully understand it, can master it, and learn to apply it to other unknown words in both reading and writing long after that week's list is finished. The program itself is easy to implement, provides meaningful homework practice for the students, and everything you need as a teacher to make spelling relevant and manageable!
Here's a little sneak peek!
I'm so passionate about this one and I'm so happy to finally be done and be able to share it! You can read about each specific piece of the program and see just how easy it is to implement by downloading the document you see above. Just click here. It seems long but I really over-explained everything just the way I'd want to someone to explain it to me including a rationale for each piece as well. I'll be back with a few more posts to explain each piece a little more thoroughly. If you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment and I'll address those as well.
When I put it in my shop {most likely this evening or tomorrow} it will list for 19.95, but here's your chance to win it before you can buy it! Just pin any image from this blog post and enter through the Rafflecopter widget below. I'll be back to update this post with the winner and to let you know when the pack is in my store. Good Luck!
Edited to add: The giveaway has ended and the unit is now posted, click here to see it on tpt.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I can imagine how much work went into this. Next year we are moving from half-year differentiated word study instruction (January - June) in first grade to full year (Sept - June, where we currently have more of a phonics whole class focus in the fall). I am definitely on the lookout for new resources and will be blogging about the transition. This could be really helpful!!!
