Come on in!

My blog buddy Jennifer at Empowering Little Learners is having a great linky! She recently entered her new classroom and is a bit overwhelmed. We've all been there, right? This is what I usually walk into about 2 weeks before school starts (we're pretty much banned from the school over the summer):
Can you see me?

teeny little drawback to being team leader: getting EVERYONE'S books delivered to my room.
Somehow in record time that mess turns into something a little better, so I invite you in to see what I manage to do with my little school spot.

Now, keep in mind that we are under the supreme ruling of the Fire Marshall from H-E-double hockey sticks! Notice the absence of fabric and bare walls -me no likey the Fire Marshall. But, welcome anyway, hope you see something that might help you set up this year! (These are pictures from several years clumped together. This year I'm moving across the hall and can't get started until August 8th! Bigger mess than usual, but I'll take more before & afters!)

  3. Wow... your room looks amazing. I am going to take my before pictures and post those on my post tomorrow. I am still frazzled... I literally have like 4 sets of cubbies and they say I have to keep them. I don't quite know what I am going to do. =)

Thanks for linking up! You have so much technology! So jealous... my new room has a SB in storage and no money to hook it up!

  8. I am overwhelmed every year and never feel like I can get it all done! But it does somehow. This year I have more of a challenge because not only am I moving buildings and grade levels, but we are going on vacation the week before school starts. And like you, we don't get much preparation time! Thanks for posting the pictures; I love getting ideas from everyone else's classrooms.

  10. Your fire marshall must be related to ours!! I had the cutest curtains up the first year at my school and they have now been living in a bag for the past 4 years!! So depressing! And I especially hate that we can't hang things from the ceiling! I snuck up one star lantern last year after the fire marshall's visit and luckily I didn't get in trouble!

That welcome sign is so cute!

  11. Cute room! Just went to survey the damage in my room today (my long-term sub had to pack up my room cuz I had a baby in May!), and it's not too bad! But still a TON to do, and going to be much more difficult with an infant in the terrible heat! :)
I see you use the behavior clip-chart I've been seeing everywhere. Mine is very similar but only has one level above "green," and I like the idea of giving them more chances to be praised, so I may change it this year! I also like how you hang your task cards on hooks on your cabinet door--great idea!
